San Diego Truck Accident Causes Driver to fall 50 Feet From Freeway

| Oct 2, 2014 | Firm News

On Sunday, September 21, 2014, a truck was forced off Interstate 805 in Mission Valley, falling nearly 50 feet onto a Dave & Busters parking lot.  This San Diego truck accident occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, a tan vehicle tapped the Ford pick-up truck, causing it to spin out of control, flip over the guardrail and plummet nearly 50 feet into a parking lot below.  The tan SUV or truck fled the scene and the CHP is currently attempting to locate the hit and run vehicle.

The first responders had to pull an unidentified man, believed to be his mid-30’s from the pick up truck.  He was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital with what were believed to be major injuries.  The man was the only victim inside the truck.

The truck actually hit the side of the Dave & Busters building as it fell from the freeway and  caused damage to the exterior of the building leaving a large hole.  According to the fire department, there was no structural damage, but the accident left broken glass and debris in the parking lot. Fortunately, there were no injuries to anyone inside Dave & Busters.

A large truck traveling at a high speed among smaller vehicles is naturally risky, especially to a small car and its passengers. Truck accidents often involve more severe injuries and can present legal issues not present in other car accident cases. Trucking accidents can cause catastrophic injuries such as brain damage, paralysis, burns, broken bones, and even death.  If you or a loved one has been involved in a San Diego truck accident, you may be entitled to compensation for your injuries and damages.  Even if you are somewhat at fault for the accident, California law may still allow you to recover compensation for your injuries.
