| Jul 1, 2014 | Firm News

On Thursday, June 26, 2014, a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV on Blaine Street and Watkins Drive in Riverside killed 66-year-old Riverside motorcyclist, Stanley McAlexander.  The Riverside motorcycle accident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. The driver of a 2011 Chevy Tahoe, was traveling east on Blaine Street.  He made a left turn into a shopping complex in front of an oncoming motorcycle who was unable to stop in time, according to the Riverside Police Department.

The motorcyclist was taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.  The Riverside Police Department is still investigating the accident.

If another driver negligently causes the death of a driver in an automobile or motorcycle accident, the deceased victim’s family can and often times should, bring a wrongful death lawsuit against the at-fault driver.  Wrongful death lawsuits can provide the families of victims’ compensation to cover funeral and burial expenses, loss of love, care and companionship, as well as other accident-related damages.

While motorcyclists can lessen their own risks of injury by taking the appropriate training classes and using proper safety gear, they cannot protect themselves from other drivers whose negligence causes an accident.  If a loved one has been the victim of a wrongful death accident or you have been injured in a motorcycle accident, please don’t hesitate to contact the dedicated Riverside, California motorcycle accident lawyers at Martinez & Schill LLP.  Your initial consultation is free and confidential and we can be reached at 951-200-4630.
