As a founder of Martinez & Schill LLP, Michelle D. Schill focuses her practice on Plaintiff’s personal injury. Michelle has extensive experience in litigating personal injury case, specifically cases involving brain injury, car accidents, premise liability and injury to children. However, Ms. Schill is well versed in handling most personal injury claims including trip or slip and fall claims against both governmental entities and private property owners and dog bite cases. Ms. Schill offers legal services to clients in San Diego, California and throughout Southern California. Michelle has proven trial experience and has secured multi-million dollar settlements for her injured clients and their families.
Michelle is a wife, mother, and trial lawyer. Often times Michelle is advocating for her clients beyond the needs of their case, stepping into a greater role to help her clients in every day life. Prior to founding Martinez & Schill LLP, Michelle spent much of her career working for insurance companies defending corporate entities in personal injury cases and evaluating insurance bad faith claims. An experienced litigator, Ms. Schill draws on the valuable insight that she gained working with insurance companies as defense counsel. Prior to her current practice, she had the unique experience of representing corporate entities and contractors in defending against personal injury matters, which provides her a unique perspective in to what insurance companies require in resolving claims. Michelle’s past experience in working with insurance companies has provided her keen insight on how to negotiate the best settlement results for her personal injury clients. “Defending against injury claims wasn’t right for me, I created this firm to use my knowledge from the defense to help victims of serious injuries.”
As a San Diego native, Michelle draws on her wide network of colleagues and friends in the local community to create the best results custom tailored for her clients. Michelle’s approach to litigation is well-balanced which allows her to build professional relationships and work productively with attorneys on both sides of the fence, but aggressively pursue litigation when necessary.
Michelle has also provided legal guidance to the San Diego restaurant and hospitality industry for many years including business formation, contract review, and obtaining liquor licenses and conditional use permits.
