Kent Thaeler (of-counsel) joins the firm with more than 20 years of litigation experience in a wide variety of matters, including construction defects, personal injury, wrongful death, property damage, contract disputes, as well as professional liability cases representing insurance agents, property inspectors and appraisers, and loan agents and brokers.
During the first ten years of his career, Kent worked for a prominent plaintiff’s construction litigation firm serving the San Diego County and Sacramento areas. More recently, Kent worked for insurance defense firm defending contractors and other professionals in construction defect litigation, professional liability matters, and serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. This experience provides him a unique perspective and insight allowing him to maximize a client’s recovery while working with insurance companies, opposing counsel, and mediators.
Kent attended the University of California at San Diego and later obtained his JD from National University School of Law in 1991 where he received a tuition scholarship based on high entrance test scores and upon the recommendation of United States Senator Jeff Bingaman of the State of New Mexico. During law school, Kent also worked as a law clerk for the El Cajon Municipal Court, serving the Honorable Eddie C. Sturgeon and the Honorable Ronald S. Prager, and others.
